Training

Private Instruction: Learn Electronic Music Production or Add Cutting-Edge Techniques To a Live Set.

I’ve been an Ableton Certified Trainer since 2011 and began my teaching career at Dubspot, NYC. I’m currently a professor at Berklee College of Music and on the faculties of The Juilliard School, New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, The New School and DJLab in San Jose, Costa Rica. I have privately trained dozens of artists, music producers, DJs and others who want to learn the art of electronic music production, sound design and integrating a laptop into their live set up including Grammy winners and top level DJs. If you are interested in studying with me privately, please contact me here. As of 2020, I am teaching primarily via Zoom.

Workshops and Group Courses From The Brooklyn Digital Conservatory

The Brooklyn Digital Conservatory was founded in 2015 as a continuation of my work as the director of Dubspot’s International Program and an Arts Envoy for the U.S. State Department. The Brooklyn Digital Conservatory’s mission is to connect the world with New York City’s electronic music culture by giving workshops and courses internationally. Since 2015, the Brooklyn Digital Conservatory has given workshops in Spain, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, Panama and the United States. In 2018, we partnered with DJLab, Costa Rica, to create the only Ableton Certified Training Center in Central America. We have also been a part of numerous online festivals and events sponsored by Ableton and Arturia. We currently offer free and paid online workshops, courses and tutorials in both English and Spanish.

Electronic Music Curriculum Design

Since 2011, I have designed the electronic music production programs of several institutions. These include New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and The Juilliard School in New York City. I also created the music production program at DJLab in San Jose, Costa Rica and contributed courses to the The Foxgrove Electronic Music School, The Electronic Music Collective in New York City. I am available to consult on curriculum design or create electronic music and historical curriculum on a secondary or university level. For more information and to access a course syllabus, contact me.
