Moog Little Phatty Stage II Sample Pack: Presets 1 – 20

I’m happy to announce a new free sample pack that I’ve created from my Moog Little Phatty Stage II.

The Moog Little Phatty Stage II was part of the Little Phatty series of Moogs which were made by Moog between 2006 and 2013. These synths were unique in that they were the last Moogs conceived by Dr. Robert Moog himself. Following his death in 2005, Moog’s chief engineer Cyril Lance completed the design.

This Moog Little Phatty Stage II is a pure analog monophonic synth with two oscillators and the famous Moog low pass filter. It came with 100 presets and was used on some fantastic records and tours of the period including Rush, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age, Gorrilaz, No Doubt and Bernie Worrell among others.

I bought this particular Moog Little Phatty Stage II in 2010 and it’s my go to synth for basses – it sounds fantastic. I’ve also used it for live performances as an incredible synth bass machine. In this sound pack, I’ve recorded the Little Phatty through a Neve Shelford Channel preamp and compressor for extra analog warmth. The samples were all recorded at 44.1/24 and I tuned the synth before each sample, so it plays back a C pitch. These can be dropped directly into a sampler for you to get the Moog sound or tweak out to create your own. Check out the sound samples below and download the pack here. Enjoy!
