Ableton Live 9 has some fantastic features for live performance. The most notable is clip automation. Essentially with clip automation, Ableton Live 9 can serve as your personal sound engineer, firing off effects that you design at any point in a song. Thus, a live performance can become something quite large without any backing tracks.
