Check out Gerhard Behles, Ableton’s CEO as he introduces Ableton Live 9. Nice shout out to Dubspot and the 7 of us who teach there who have gotten Ableton Certified. I’ll write a little more about Live 9 after next week when the Certified Trainers and heads of the Ableton User Groups will meet for a virtual conference with Berlin.
Ableton Live 9’s out today. Here’s the new hardware controller that goes along with it. It’s called ‘Push’. Read more about it on Ableton’s site.
This Thursday at 11, I’ll be doing a set with Comandante Zero (C Ø) at the Warper Party. It’s a really cutting-edge digital hang with artists performing with some of the new technology out there. I’ll be introducing a track or two that I’ve written over the past month. Been really influenced by the Latin electro I’ve been checking out in the past couple of months.
A really great article by my Dubspot colleague the brilliant Raz Mesinai on sexism in the DJ/Producer world. It certainly is there. Raz gives some great historical context and mentions the amazing Delia Derbyshire, one of the giants in developing sampling and looping who is less known than she should be.
Here’s some new material from a fanastic group I met in Colombia – Makana. Mixing up funk/rock/electronic with visuals. Love them. Here’s a short vid I took of them in April.
